Children of all ages can have a chance to get hands-on with electricity in our carefully controlled environment.

Our science enrichment workshops embrace the National Curriculum at all stages from KS1- KS4 and can be adapted to meet the learning requirements of your individual group.

This workshop allows children to see, learn and experiment with electricity in a safe and secure environment.

It is particularly suitable for the study of electricity and conductors in KS1 and KS2 science. It introduces pupils to some of the key scientific terms in a fun and easy to remember way.

During the workshop pupils learn about Nikola Tesla; who he was, where he came from and his high voltage/low current experiments.

We demonstrate some of Tesla’s work and use plasma balls explaining how and why they work, including the Tesla Coil inside.

We also show how the electricity is passing through our bodies and the effect on other objects we hold or are nearby.  Watch how a lightbulb glows that isn’t plugged in.

Depending on their ages and ability level, it is also possible for your group to make their own Tesla Coil as part of the session.

After the session, children and teachers will be amazed at how much they’ve learned, all thanks to the great man himself.
