Welcome back! One thing as a pet owner that has occurred to me, is that when it comes to looking into owning a new pet, the whole research side to things can be a tad bit daunting. There are two very drastic sides to the spectrum. On the one side, you have the people who say “yes, you can do that with your pet” and on the other side you have the ones that say “No! Absolutely not you cruel person!”. With so many mixed opinions, it can be difficult to work out if the care of a particular animal will fit in your day to day life, and therefore a difficult decision as to whether or not to get that particular animal.
So I have decided to “attempt”, to make such processes easier for you. Now please, don’t think of me as a person telling you what you can and can not do when it comes to your pets. My thoughts are based off of my experience as a pet owner. Do keep in mind different species require different care. Animals of the same species may also require different care from each other due to their individual traits.
Naturally with any pet you are thinking about purchasing or adopting, you should do your research. Although I do think of my opinion quite highly, as you should too, it is wise to research from other sources. Part of whatI plan to discuss, will be based off of the care I undergo with that particular animal. Focusing on the aspects that worked for me, what didn’t and why. You should still look into factual care sheets for that animal, and the opinions of others before you make your final verdict. My key focus is to show you it is not the end of the world if you do something different to what you was told. Your main focus should be that you will be the carer for this animal. So you will be the best person to judge how your pet will cope.
To help you a little bit further, we do supply downloadable care sheets for the animals we have in our care. These sheets provide you with key information you should know. This includes dietary requirements, housing, temperature and cleaning requirements. So in terms of all the need to know factual stuff, we do supply it. Just go to “Our Animals” page, click on the animal you would like to learn about, and download the care sheet. Click on this link to take you over there now – http://wildsci.co.uk/our-animals/
