Meet Aimée, our newest Animal Expert and Nutty Professor! She has quickly become an integral part of our team, bringing her enthusiasm and dedication to animal care into every aspect of her work. With a genuine love for animals and a passion for educating others, Aimée is excited to share her extensive knowledge with everyone.

Before joining Wild Science, Aimée honed her skills at a prestigious stud farm, where she undertook rigorous training in horse care and management, specialising in breeding practices. Over the course of a decade, she immersed herself in the horse industry, gaining invaluable experience in managing yards, travelling to various shows, and overseeing the breeding of numerous foals. This rewarding journey not only deepened her expertise but also solidified her lifelong commitment to animal welfare.

Following her time in the equine world, Aimée transitioned to working at a pet store, where she developed her passion for helping and informing the public about a wide range of animals and their specific care needs. Through hands-on experience and customer interactions, she cultivated an understanding of diverse animal welfare issues, which has ultimately guided her to Wild Science.

“My favourite aspect of this job is the opportunity to engage with a diverse array of people and create meaningful connections through our shared fascination with animals. It’s incredibly rewarding to see individuals who initially feel fear or hesitation, particularly towards creatures like snakes or those often misunderstood, such as rats, transform their viewpoints. Watching their expressions change as they have the chance to interact closely with these animals is truly magical. Being able to answer their questions and foster an open dialogue not only helps dispel myths but also broadens their understanding and appreciation of these creatures.”

From creating playful, messy slime that captivates young minds to conducting thrilling experiments in her fizz bang pop workshop that demonstrate basic scientific principles, there’s something for everyone. Moreover, Aimée is flexible and adaptable, bringing her workshops to various settings, including community fairs, schools, birthday parties, and other gatherings. Her goal is to reach as many people as possible, sharing her enthusiasm for nature and science in a fun, interactive way.

What is her favourite animal/animals:

Aimée's all-time favourite animal has always been the majestic horse, and this passion fueled her previous career. She is captivated by their stunning array of colours and impressive stature, and she delights in the unique personalities that each horse possesses. Trailing closely behind her love for horses are cats, who also hold a special place in her heart. Aimée is now the proud owner of several cats and horses, along with a fascinating assortment of other mammals, reptiles, and invertebrates that accompany her during her engaging Wild Science workshops. Among her diverse collection of animals, choosing a favourite would be an impossible task, as each one is cherished for its distinctive traits and occupies a cherished space within her heart.


What started her love for animals?

From an early age, Aimée, like many of our Wild Science family, was captivated by the world of animals. Growing up in a bustling household filled with an array of furry and feathery companions sparked her insatiable curiosity. Each day, she would delve into research about her beloved creatures, eagerly absorbing every nugget of information she could find. Animals have always been a constant presence in her life, creating a warm and lively atmosphere that she cherishes deeply. The thought of not having them around feels unimaginable, as they truly make her house a home.

Her passion was further ignited by countless hours spent watching Animal Planet and various captivating documentaries that showcased the wonders of the animal kingdom. These experiences not only enriched her knowledge but also fuelled her enthusiasm. Now, as the years pass, her love for animals continues to grow stronger, blossoming into a lifelong commitment to understanding and caring for the incredible beings that share our planet.
