We are thrilled to introduce Jazz, a vibrant and enthusiastic addition to our Wild Science family. She is a true expert in the animal kingdom. Moreover, she combines her extensive knowledge with a creative spirit. From a young age, Jazz has been captivated by the fascinating world of animals. This passion has only deepened over the years. It is clear that Jazz truly exemplifies what it means to be a Wild Science Animal Expert.

After completing her college education, she embarked on a fulfilling career as an animal welfare officer. In this role, she discovered her deep-seated love for reptiles. This experience led her to manage a reptile shop. She cherished this opportunity and felt fortunate to have had such rewarding roles throughout her career.

When she’s not expanding her knowledge about animals, Jazz enjoys engaging in outdoor adventures with her agility dog, Quinn. Together, they navigate exciting competitions, showcasing their bond and teamwork. Jazz's enthusiasm for both her work and her hobbies is truly infectious!

What area does Jazz cover?

Jazz can be found exploring the vibrant Southern and South Eastern regions of England, where her adventurous spirit thrives. While she frequently travels through picturesque countryside and charming towns, she also makes her way into the bustling heart of London and its surrounding areas. With a passion for adventure and connection, Jazz delights in meeting new people. She offers engaging and enjoyable educational workshops that inspire and entertain her participants. Whether it's in a cosy community centre or an outdoor gathering, she brings a sense of fun and learning to every experience. As a Wild Science Animal Expert, Jazz brings her unique expertise wherever she travels.

Jazz’s favourite part about her job at Wild Science is the opportunity to showcase her incredible collection of animals to visitors. These guests may have never encountered these fascinating creatures up close before. Watching their eyes widen in surprise and their faces light up with curiosity fills her with joy. She takes great pleasure in sharing interesting facts and stories about each animal. Furthermore, she loves seeing how their enthusiasm grows as they learn more. Each interaction not only enlightens the guests but also deepens her own appreciation for the unique beauty of these animals. Moments like these truly make her day.

What sessions does Jazz do?

Jazz, like all our other team members, is enthusiastic and eager to participate in any workshops offered by Wild Science, whether they focus on animals or various scientific themes. In her animal workshops, she is adept at tailoring her sessions to meet diverse learning needs. She provides foundational information about different species. In addition, she delves deeper into specific topics. Some key areas of her workshops include adaptations, rainforest ecosystems, and food chains. These are subjects she presents with passion and expertise. These engaging sessions are available for schools, parties, and social events. As a result, people of all ages have the opportunity to learn about the natural world. Choosing a Wild Science Animal Expert like Jazz ensures a premium educational experience.

In addition to her workshops, Jazz frequently participates in animal therapy programs at care homes and Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools. These experiences allow individuals to connect with animals. This fosters a sense of warmth and love that can be incredibly therapeutic and enriching. Jazz’s love for science complements her work with animals, as she enjoys aligning her teaching with the UK school curriculum. She skilfully integrates her master's degree knowledge into her workshops to enhance the learning experience. You will often find her captivating participants with exciting experiments during her States of Matter workshops. In these sessions, she demonstrates the mesmerising properties of dry ice. Another workshop is creating colourful and fragrant soaps. This allows participants to not only explore the science behind the process but also take home a delightful, tangible reminder of the fun they had. Through her diverse offerings, Jazz continually inspires curiosity and a love for learning in everyone she meets.

What is her favourite animal/animals?

Jazz has an undeniable passion for her favourite animals, particularly her snakes. Among her collection, she cherishes a stunning Brazilian Rainbow Boa, a true sweetheart with vibrant, iridescent scales that shimmer in the light. This gentle creature has a captivating personality that steals her heart every day. But her affection doesn’t end there; she is equally enamoured with her charming crested gecko, whose unique features and playful demeanour bring endless joy to her life. Together, these beloved pets create a lively and vibrant atmosphere in Jazz's home. 

What started her love for animals?

Jazz developed a passion for animals during her college studies, where she immersed herself in various aspects of animal behaviour and biology. Growing up surrounded by pets, she fostered a deep connection with creatures of all kinds. Throughout her life, she has cared for and worked with a diverse array of animals. These include horses that gallop freely, loyal dogs that accompany her on adventures, intriguing crocodiles, fascinating snakes that slither gracefully, vibrant lizards that bask in the sun, and captivating invertebrates. Her love for the animal kingdom knows no bounds, and each creature holds a special place in her heart.
