Our team arrives 15–30 minutes before the session to prepare the space. We set up secure animal enclosures and organise everything in advance. We also make sure the environment feels calm and ready before participants arrive.
We kick off the session with a brief, engaging introduction. We’ll meet the group, introduce our handlers, and explain the "Rules of the Zoo." We teach everyone how to use "gentle hands" and how to interact safely so that both humans and animals feel comfortable.
The heart of the session! Guests interact with our animal ambassadors in small, supervised groups. This is the time for petting, holding, and feeding. Our handlers are right there to guide every touch and answer every "Why?" and "How?".
While the guests interact, our experts share fascinating facts about each animal’s habitat, diet, and unique personality. It’s an immersive learning experience where education meets play.
At the end, participants wash their hands using soap and water. We then carefully pack up all animals and equipment. The space is left clean and organised. There is also time for final questions before the session ends
How to safely interact with our animal ambassadors
We guide participants to gently touch the animals using a calm and light approach. Not all animals like being handled in the same way. Our handlers explain what is suitable for each one. Some animals may be for observation only. This depends on their comfort and welfare. All interaction is done carefully to keep everyone relaxed.
Some animals can be carefully held during the session. This is always done under close supervision. Our handlers show how to hold animals safely. This may include sitting down or keeping hands steady. Participants can choose their level of interaction. They can hold an animal or simply watch.
Feeding does not happen in every session. When it is included, we provide the correct food. Our team explains how to feed animals safely. Participants are guided step by step. No outside food is allowed. Animals have specific diets and sensitive systems.
putting animal well-being at the heart of every visit.
Our animals are not props. They are part of our team. Each animal has its own behaviour and limits. If an animal chooses to rest or move away, we respect that. We never force interaction. This helps keep animals calm and comfortable throughout the session.
We closely monitor all animals during the session. If an animal shows signs of stress or tiredness, it is given a break straight away. We rotate animals throughout the session to avoid over-handling. This ensures every animal stays healthy, relaxed, and well cared for.
Animal welfare is always our priority. All interactions are guided and controlled. This keeps both participants and animals safe. Our approach helps build respect for animals and their needs. It also creates a positive and calm experience for everyone involved.
We create a safe and controlled environment so participants can enjoy experiments with confidence.
We prepare the space before the session begins. A mess mat is used where needed to protect the area. All materials are organised to keep the setup safe and tidy.
To make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, we ask all participants to follow simple guidance during the session.
We take hygiene seriously to protect both participants and animals during every session.
We want everyone to feel confident and comfortable before the session. Use these resources to understand what to expect and how to prepare.
For some children, especially those with sensory sensitivities or ASD, knowing what to expect can make a big difference. Our Social Story is a simple, visual guide that explains the session step by step.
Planning for a group can feel overwhelming, so we’ve made it simple. Our Guest Prep Guide helps you prepare your space and your group before the session.

Warm thanks from our amazing clients
The animal expert we were lucky enough to have from wild science was excellent. She even managed to keep the kids at a 7 year old birthday party relatively quiet and very interested. Would highly recommend.

We have used Wild Science for 3 years at our school. Each year they deliver wonderful sessions to Nursery and Reception children. We have never had any issues and would recommend them to everyone. The children love the experience and the animals and staff are amazing!

Thank you Wild Science for such an amazing party! Amy was super professional and had the kids eating out of the palm of her hand. My son absolutely loved the animals she brought and we were so impressed with how she handled the group (of 3-5 year olds) and gave them interesting and fun facts about each animal which kept all the kids interested and engaged. It was so much fun, we would highly recommend it!!!

Ross was absolutely amazing. So patient, kind and knowledgeable of the animals and the slime workshop. We had a party of 20 and with the madness that ensued he was always calm and reassuring for each child if they were apprehensive of holding any animal - big or small. Would 100% book Wild Science again, especially Ross.
Thank you for making our animal lovers birthday so special!
