Educational Animal Experiences in Norfolk

Bringing Wildlife Closer to Children in Norfolk

Children are naturally curious about animals. They love asking questions and discovering how different creatures live. That is why educational animal experiences are becoming more popular across Norfolk.

These experiences do much more than entertain. They help children learn through real-life encounters. Instead of only reading about wildlife, children can see, observe, and sometimes even handle amazing animals.

At Wild Science, we bring educational animal experiences directly to schools, libraries, nurseries, birthday parties, and community events across Norfolk. Every workshop is designed to inspire curiosity while supporting classroom learning.

Why Educational Animal Experiences Are Important

Children remember experiences more than lessons from a textbook. Seeing a snake move or watching a giant African land snail crawl creates lasting memories.

Furthermore, hands-on learning improves confidence. It encourages children to ask questions and discover answers for themselves.

Educational animal experiences help children:

  • understand wildlife and habitats
  • build confidence around animals
  • improve observation skills
  • develop respect for nature

These sessions also support STEM learning. They encourage children to think like young scientists while having fun.

Bringing Wildlife Into the Classroom

Many schools across Norfolk are looking for new ways to engage pupils. Live animal workshops are one of the most effective ways to make science exciting.

Wild Science brings a wide variety of animals directly into the classroom. Consequently, this removes the need for expensive school trips while giving children an unforgettable learning experience.

Our workshops are suitable for EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3, and KS4. Every session is adapted to match the children's age and learning level.

Children don't just watch. They interact, observe, compare, and discover.

Meet Amazing Animals Up Close

Meeting live animals helps children understand wildlife in a completely different way.

Depending on the workshop, children may meet friendly mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and fascinating invertebrates. Every encounter is supervised by experienced presenters who explain interesting facts in simple language.

Children often meet rabbits, guinea pigs, snakes, lizards, frogs, stick insects, giant African land snails, tarantulas, and many other fascinating creatures.

Every animal helps tell a different story about nature.

Learning Beyond Science

Educational animal experiences support much more than science lessons.

Children improve their communication skills by asking questions. They also develop teamwork during interactive activities. Many children become more confident after meeting an animal they once feared.

Our workshops also introduce important topics such as conservation, biodiversity, habitats, food chains, and animal adaptations.

These lessons help children understand why protecting wildlife matters.

Educational Animal Experiences Across Norfolk

Wild Science proudly delivers educational animal experiences throughout Norfolk.

No need to worry, we can bring our mobile zoo to Norwich, King's Lynn, Great Yarmouth, Dereham, Cromer, Thetford, Wymondham, Diss, Fakenham, and many surrounding towns.

Whether you are planning a school workshop, a library event, or a community celebration, our team can bring wildlife directly to your venue.

This makes learning accessible for children across the county.

Perfect for Libraries and Community Events

Libraries have become much more than places to borrow books. They are now community learning hubs where children can explore new interests.

Live animal experiences attract families and encourage children to discover more about science and wildlife.

Many libraries now book educational animal experiences during school holidays, Summer Reading Challenge events, and family activity days.

These sessions combine storytelling, animal facts, and live encounters to create memorable learning experiences.

Children leave excited to read more about the animals they have just met.

Ready to host an event? Book your animal encounter here.

Supporting Birthday Parties and Family Events

Educational animal experiences are not only for schools.

Many families now choose animal experiences instead of traditional birthday entertainment.

Children enjoy meeting fascinating animals while learning something new. Parents enjoy seeing children engaged, curious, and smiling throughout the session.

Our birthday parties combine education with fun. They create memories that last much longer than a typical party.

Whether it is a birthday, family celebration, or local event, live animal encounters always become the highlight of the day.

Plan your perfect party - book your experience today!

Why Families and Schools Choose Wild Science

Wild Science has been delivering educational workshops since June 2014. For more than 12 years, we have inspired children across the UK through interactive learning.

Our presenters are experienced, friendly, and passionate about education. Every workshop is designed to be engaging, safe, and suitable for the age of the audience.

Animal welfare is always our highest priority. Every animal receives excellent care before, during, and after each event.

Schools, libraries, and families trust Wild Science because we combine education with unforgettable experiences.

Supporting the National Curriculum

Educational animal experiences are more than fun activities; in fact, they also support learning in the classroom.

Popular workshop topics include:

  • Animal Classification
  • Mini-Beasts
  • Food Chains and Food Webs
  • Habitats
  • Adaptations
  • Rainforest Animals
  • Living Things and Their Environments

Children remember these lessons because they experience them first-hand.

Helping Children Build Confidence

Not every child feels comfortable around animals. Some children are nervous, while others are excited from the start.

Our experienced presenters work at every child's pace; however, no one is ever forced to touch an animal.

Many children become more confident by the end of the session. They often leave with a new appreciation for wildlife and nature.

Watching a child smile after meeting their first snake or tarantula is one of the most rewarding parts of our workshops.

Why Norfolk Schools Choose Wild Science

Schools across Norfolk want activities that are educational, engaging, and easy to organise.

Wild Science brings everything to your venue. There is no need to arrange transport or organise an expensive day trip.

Our workshops are suitable for:

  • Primary schools
  • Secondary schools
  • Nurseries
  • Libraries
  • Community groups
  • Home education groups

Every session is adapted to suit the age and ability of the children.

More Than Animal Encounters

Wild Science offers much more than educational animal experiences.

Schools and families can also book a range of interactive workshops, including Science Workshops, Animal Classification, Mini-Beast Workshops, Food Chains and Food Webs, States of Matter, and Science Birthday Parties.

These workshops help children explore science through practical activities. They also encourage curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.

Many schools book several workshops throughout the year to support different curriculum topics.

Creating Memories That Last

Children may forget a worksheet, but they rarely forget meeting a live animal.

Beyond this, educational animal experiences encourage children to ask questions, explore new ideas, and develop a lifelong interest in wildlife.

These sessions also inspire future scientists, conservationists, veterinarians, and animal carers.

The excitement often continues after the workshop ends. Many children borrow wildlife books, research animals at home, and share what they learned with family and friends.

That lasting curiosity is exactly what great education should achieve.

What an incredible experience! Booked for my sister’s 31st birthday, we couldn’t have had a better time! Jess immediately made everyone feel at ease and relaxed, was incredibly attentive to my sister’s energy levels (she has severe M.E.), asking if she wanted to take breaks or lay quietly with a Guinea pig.
Jess shared her wealth of knowledge with us in a very humour filled way, answering any questions we had. The animals she brought with her were amazing and all seemed incredibly happy and healthy. Such a range of different animals, a lesser tenrec, a tree frog, two Guinea pigs, a tortoise, a scorpion, a giant snail and a python!
Thank you Jess for such a special birthday treat for my sister, and incredible memories for our whole family to cherish!

You won’t be disappointed!

George Brown was booked for our granddaughter's birthday party. He and his wonderful animal friends enthralled everyone there from 2 years old to 70 somethings. George has a wonderful gift for communicating his knowledge and love of the animals he generously shared with us. Book him! You won't be disappointed.

Wholly recommended the experience with Wild Science. From the telephone call through to the day itself, the team are professional and very communicative. Harriet was amazing with the animals and children. Our birthday girl and friends had such a great time petting the animals (as much or as little as they wanted to). Harriet had some wonderful facts to share and responded so sensitively and helpfully to answer all questions the children had. Thanks so much- it was a delight to have you for our daughter’s birthday party.

We booked a corporate animal therapy session as part of Mental Health Awareness week, and it was truly loved by everyone. [...] Harriet was absolutely fantastic - super knowledgable, engaging and clearly passionate about every animal she introduced us to. [...] Harriet created such a calm environment that even our more hesitant colleagues were soon happily holding the snake. We can't recommend Wild Science highly enough - if you're looking to boost morale, reduce stress or just do something a little bit different for your team.

The animal expert we were lucky enough to have from wild science was excellent. She even managed to keep the kids at a 7 year old birthday party relatively quiet and very interested. Would highly recommend.

Thank you Wild Science for such an amazing party! Amy was super professional and had the kids eating out of the palm of her hand. My son absolutely loved the animals she brought and we were so impressed with how she handled the group (of 3-5 year olds) and gave them interesting and fun facts about each animal which kept all the kids interested and engaged. It was so much fun, we would highly recommend it!!!

Ross was absolutely amazing. So patient, kind and knowledgeable of the animals and the slime workshop. We had a party of 20 and with the madness that ensued he was always calm and reassuring for each child if they were apprehensive of holding any animal - big or small. Would 100% book Wild Science again, especially Ross.
Thank you for making our animal lovers birthday so special!
