What Are Nursery Science Workshops?
Nursery science workshops are short, play-based sessions where children try real experiments. Each one is planned around watching, asking questions and taking part. Children join in at their own pace, so nobody is rushed. Teachers and nursery staff can watch, join in and ask questions too.
Our presenter adapts to your space and your group. The session stays age-appropriate, engaging and fun from start to finish.
Science Workshops for Nurseries and Preschools: Our Topics
Our topics cover different aspects of science, from chemical reactions to materials and bubbles. We offer a range of workshop topics to suit different ages, attention spans and learning styles. Science of Slime
Children enjoy creating their own slime and explore how it stretches. They pick a colour, add glitter and test whether thick or runny slime stretches further. A movement game shows what slime is made of, and everyone takes their slime home. Read more about our Science of Slime workshop.
Bubbles and Balloons
Children explore how bubbles form, why they are round and why some last longer. They touch and pop bubbles, then mix a bubble bottle to keep. Our Bubbles and Balloons workshop turns surface tension into pure play.
Fizz, Bang, Pop

Dinosaur Workshop
Young explorers hatch fizzy dino eggs and take on a puzzle quest, digging for pieces as a team. It is a gentle but challenging game that builds teamwork. Children also learn what herbivores, carnivores and omnivores eat. Find out more about our dinosaur workshops.
Science of Bubbles
Wands, bubble art and wiggly bubble snakes fill this sensory session. Bubble wands and shapes bring early maths, art and science together. It was created with SEN children in mind, and many young learners enjoy it. Take a look at the sensory bubbles workshop.
How Our Workshops Support Early Years Learning
Young children learn best by doing. Children learn through hands-on experimenting, not formal lessons, so our presenters teach through play. Our workshops let them explore materials, test ideas and talk about what they see. This supports early years education and Early Years Foundation Stage learning in a natural, playful way.
Sessions also help children develop vocabulary, confidence and teamwork. Live demonstrations show science in everyday life and spark creative thinking. Children build skills and learn to love the world around them.
Open-ended questions encourage curiosity, so children are invited to say what they notice. The focus is on exploring rather than finding the right answer. Science Workshops for Schools and Older Pupils
Nurseries and preschools are at the heart of what we do. We also run science workshops for schools, supporting science education at every stage. Our school workshops suit different year groups, and older sessions link to the National Curriculum.
Primary Schools

Secondary Schools
Secondary schools can ask about school workshops too. Our states of matter workshop suits KS1 to KS4, so older students can join in. Teachers can contact us to plan a session that fits their subjects and timetable.

Online Science Sessions Are Also Available
Wild Science can arrange Zoom sessions for remote learners. Some sessions, such as Science of Slime, can be delivered live online. Kits are available for your class or for individual use. Contact us to ask which topics suit an online session.

Safety comes first at every nursery science workshop. All our staff are fully DBS checked with enhanced disclosure. Each presenter arrives with their DBS certificate and photo ID.
